This upcoming addition to the Willow Glen neighborhood in San Jose will create an impressive gateway to the charming local business district. The mixed-use building welcomes people to the area with a central, richly landscaped plaza and stone-clad tower surrounded by ground-level restaurants and shops with offices above. The building fits into the local village fabric by wrapping around the historic building on the site, providing numerous pedestrian-oriented amenities and gracious outdoor terraces for office tenants.

KDA worked closely with the community, local merchants and the property's immediate neighbors to ensure their concerns were addressed As a result, the project was widely supported and received unanimous approval from the neighborhood association as well as the Planning Commission and the City Council.

The building was designed with community and sustainability in mind. The completed building will include small offices for local residents, bike racks, showers, operable windows, a photovoltaic system, highly efficient water usage, and priority parking for fuel efficient vehicles. As a result, the building is expected to achieve a LEED Gold rating. Construction is scheduled to be complete in June 2012.
