This new 2,300 square foot office building is nestled into a unique mixed-use neighborhood in Berkeley. The floor plan provides a combination of open work areas, private offices, conference rooms and mezzanine.

To create a light, open space we topped the building with a curved barrel roof and south-facing clerestory windows. Sunlight from above washes the walls and fills the interior space with bright, diffused light. The building is sided with a combination of wood, metal and stucco to reflect the industrial, commercial and residential buildings that surround it.

In conjunction with the new building we renovated the existing 1950's building on the site, creating a vehicle for rental income to offset the cost of the new building.
