Kahn Design Associates (KDA) provides thoughtful, sustainable design and exceptional service for commercial, institutional and residential clients throughout California.
Our award-winning practice is diverse in project type but unified in its mission. From contemporary to traditional, single family homes to large retail centers, each project responds to our clients' goals with warmth, liveliness and sensitivity to environment.
Our process is based on inclusiveness and collaboration. We actively involve our clients in the design process. We partner with stakeholders, community groups and city officials to get potentially contentious projects built in difficult political environments. And we work hand-in-hand with contractors, making use of their on-site experience to ensure efficient construction.
Begun by architect and general contractor Charles Kahn in 1984, KDA has been designing energy efficient buildings for over two decades. With a deep commitment to sustainable design and five LEED AP staff members, we have recently launched LEEDworks, a branch of the firm specializing in sustainability consulting and LEED certification assistance.
KDA's staff of 12 includes architects, project managers and interior designers. While broad in expertise, the studio is united by a shared passion for design that enlivens everyday life.
